Bishop's Commons Celebrates Ten Year Anniversary

March 10, 2010

Ten years have passed since Bishop’s Commons opened its doors to seniors in the
community
promising to “provide the comforts of home without the worries” to all who resided at
Oswego’s first assistive living residence. Since March 2000, three hundred residents
have come through the doors, making Bishop’s Commons their home, making new friends, and
in many cases catching up with old ones.

Since 2000 Bishop’s Commons has become one of a kind in Oswego County and a new choice
for seniors who want to remain active and independent. While offering a unique
combination of attractive, affordable apartment homes and support services, Bishop’s
Commons staff strives to go “above and beyond” with customer service keeping this a
number one priority. “It is important that our residents and their families know that
we
are here for them day in and day out whatever their need may be,” Senior Living
Coordinator, Julie Chetney noted. “It may a simple cup of coffee and pleasant
conversation or a higher level of assistance with medications or personal care, our
staff
is here to improve overall quality of life.”

Providing three meals each day, 24 hour staffing, scheduled transportation for
recreation
and medical appointments, activities and social opportunities, weekly laundry and linen
service, and housekeeping are all included in a simple monthly rent. Licensed home
care
agency; St. Luke Home Health Services provides additional expanded care at a reasonable
rate.

Bishop’s Commons is part of the St. Luke Health Services Campus conveniently located on
a
wooded, scenic hillside, overlooking the Oswego River and Falls. If you are interested
in touring the residence or getting more information, call 349-0799 or visit
